Summer Learning Journey Day 1: St Joseph’s Cathedral

This Cathedral is located in
Wellington and is named St
Mary's Cathedral. It was opened in 1851 and was open for 47 years until it was destroyed by a fire in 1898.

    This is a great cathedral post! I grew up in Wellington so I think its pretty awesome that you have posted a cathedral from there!! :)

    It is pretty amazing that it was only open for 47 years before it burnt down!I think they did a pretty impressive job of rebuilding it!

    It has also had some troubles after the 2013 earthquake! :

    Have you visited this cathedral in Wellington before? It is pretty beautiful... reminds me of the Notre Dame just a lot smaller!!
